Excerpts from
"Creature Comforts, Barkley House Plans to Provide a Home Away
From Home for People Whose Pets Receive Treatment at MU"
Sedalia resident John Simmons, whose Lab/Shepherd mix, Cheeky Monkey,
is being treated for a tumor said he thinks clients traveling long distances
would benefit from the new house.
"It would give
people somewhere to work and relax other than the waiting room,"
he said.
"Interacting
with other pet owners who have sick animals would also help," he
said.
"Patients' owners
and doctors also would have greater opportunity to interact," Henry
said.
To animal lovers such
as Henry, being close to pets in a place like Barkley House is not an
extravagant luxury, but a priority.
